Being one of Cebu’s favorite food destination, Greenwich gave out a big pizza blow-out exclusively for Cebuanos on the eve of Sinulog. Held at SM City Cebu Event Center, Greenwich proudly presented 2 new additions to their family that will surely make not just the Cebuanos, but also the Greenwich fans all over the country, to crave more and visit Greenwich throughout the entire 2014. Yours truly got the chance to witness this awesome treat from Greenwich.

You’ll definitely want more of Greenwich’s Hawaiian Overload goodness starting at P99.00 for solo size pizza.

Greenwich’s Hawaiian Overload Pizza will take you to an entirely different experience. I’ve tried it, and it had me bought another box after I had my first slice. Continue reading

Tamilok Face-off: Fresh versus Breaded

Standard

If travelling in a different place, one must consider trying out what’s best and what’s recommended in there. Things that are not found in your place of origin and something that truly identifies the place you’re in. I think this is an unspoken golden rule to travelers alike.

That folks, is what we did when me and my office friends paid a vacation to Palawan last August 2013. While in Palawan, we never failed to try the things they are so proud of. One of which is trying out their famous delicacy: Tamilok.

Tamilok (shipworm) is actually a saltwater clam with soft, naked body that loves to bore holes on wood that is immersed in water, including docks, wooden piers, and wooden ships. No wonder why it is called shipworm. It is popular in Palawan today as a favority culinary delicacy that is enjoyed by everyone.

Serenitea in IT Park

Standard

People nowadays love milkteas, and that includes me. Milkteas have become everyone’s beverage and the excuse for those who don’t drink coffee. And when there’s a new milktea shop opening in town, it become everyone’s word of mouth.
Speaking of milktea shops, there is a new addition to the fast growing milktea shops here in Metro Cebu.

Serenitea is not new here in the Philippines, as it is already vast in Manila. But this shop is new to the tastebuds of the Cebuanos when they opened their branch in Calyx Center, Cebu IT Park. Now, it is already a hot topic for milk tea aficionados.

As a milk tea lover myself, I am one of those people who were very curious about its taste and how it differs from other shops. Let me share my insights about their top 1 best seller: Okinawa Milk Tea:

20130603-194619.jpg
Before I give my thoughts, lemme describe first my drink. I ordered an Okinawa Milk Tea (also called Black Sugar Flavor Milk Tea), medium size with 50% sugar level and no sinkers, so that I can fully enjoy the milk tea alone and allow the taste of the tea to linger into my tongue. This drink only costs Php 95.00.

20130603-194648.jpg
Now for my insights. Sipping a little of it leaves a little sting of bitterness, but is isn’t bad at all. Maybe because black sugar flavor is new to my taste so its bitterness is too foreign for my tastebuds. I let it stay for my mouth before swallowing it, then the bitterness taste went gone in an instant. I think this drink is quite a player to the tongue! And when you swallow it down, a touch of sweetness passed at the middle part of my tongue. Something that feels nice when you drink it, but goes away instantly to the fact that it makes you get another gulp to feel it again. Again, as I said, this drink is really a player. Maybe that’s the reason why it is tagged as no. 1 best seller of Serenitea.

Just a sidenote comment to the place, the ambiance is relaxing but for me, there’s only little room for privacy. The lighting is cozy but personally, I don’t like how they present the lights. The brick wall – yellow greenish wall combination is kinda distracting because it is somehow mismatched. And personally, I don’t want to enjoy my drink on a wired, cushionless seating. WIFI speed ranges from average to fast, depending on the number of people using it.

Roti Banana

Standard

First thing’s first: Thank you Harold Geronimo for introducing to me this awesome dish.

Roti Banana

This dish might look like a simple one, but this made me in awe! There’s nothing special about the ingredients, but I like the idea on how you will eat this piece of heaven.

Best paired with condensed milk.

Best paired with condensed milk.

I must say, this dish, called Roti Banana, is best paired with a dip of condensed milk, because banana inside the wrapper blends well with the sweetness of the condensed milk. But I also like to pair it with chocolate or salsa dip.

Shake and Prosciutto

Standard

I could not forget these two tasty treats at the Continental Club of Marco Polo Hotel. Their taste is so unforgettable to the point that I want to take some of these after I attended the Blogger’s Quickie event of Lazada that time. I’m talking about their Watermelon Shake and Mango Prosciutto.

Let me talk about the tasty dessert called Mango Prosciutto. It is an uncooked slice of ham (prosciutto means “Italian ham”) that wraps around a slice of ripe mango with a little spribkle of cheese. Now whay makes this unforgettable for me? Simple! It’s because I can really taste the three ingredients i mentioned.

The meat is obviously raw since thay is the property of a prosciutto, but with the combination of raw meat and the rope mango, you can’t really feel awkward when you eat the meat because of the sweetness added due to the mango. Plus, you can also taste the cheese sprinkle with every bite of thia food from Heaven.

This Watermelon Shake may look like a simple fruit shake, but believe me, once you taste this one, you will reconsider. Yes, this is a fresh shake made from a large green-skinned melon, but there’s a kick of sweetness hidden in every sip. You can feel tiny bits of watermelon but its not that disturbing and it doesn’t clog the straw. I had two servings of this and I even ate the watermelon cut found tlat the top of the glass.

These two delicious foods are now the new addition to my favorites. And i can’t wait to taste some of these again. 🙂
